Gorumara National Park:

If you are aspiring to visit Doorars, then you cannot miss Gorumara National park. This place is situated in the flood plains of Jaldhaka and Murti rivers; the total area is enriched with astonishing natural beauty and a huge density of flora and fauna. Gorumara was stated as a wilflife sanctuary in the year of 1949 and a National Park in the year of 1992. With the fortified wild life resources, you can experience lots of wild and natural species. This park is enriched with huge herbivores, such as gaur, Indian rhinoceros, sloth bear, Asian elephant, samber deer and chital. Tiny herbivores like- hog deer, barking dear etc. are also living here. In this park, the existence of large carnivores are very less, this place is not the home place of wild dogs, bengal tigers and Indian wolfs, but sometimes luckily you can spot tiger here.

This place is blooming with variety of birds, numerous species of submontane wild birds like sunbird, scarlet minivetm spangled drongo, Asian paradise flycatcher and last but not the least great Indian hornbill. In some special time of a year you can experience migratory birds, which includes very rare Brahminy Duck. For various reptiles and amphibians this place is hometown, it includes numerous species of snakes like king cobra, Indian Python etc. you can easily reach to this place by availing air, rail or road options.

River Murti:

This is a very small yet very beautiful river of this area which is veined by Neora vally National Park and crosses the Samsing; at last it meets with the river Jaldhaka, near Gorumara national park. The banks of this crystal clear river are famous as picnic spots, and you can easily cross the river on foot anytime other than the rainy season. In the beautiful full moon nights, bonfire is arranged for the travelers in the banks of this river, it will give you a lifetime experience of beauty.

Samsing Tea Garden:

If you want to experience the panoramic view of Dooars, then Samsing is a must visit place for you. This heavenly beautiful place is surrounded with true greenery and enriched with tea gardens, the picturesque shady views of this place is attracting nature lovers from decades. The journey path to this place is very much rich with eye soothing sceneries of green tea gardens on the rolling slops of the hills. Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary:

In the banks of the river Murti, one of the enriched wildlife sanctuaries is the Chapramari wildlife sanctuary, it is located near Chalsa. Suntaley Khola:

It is a very small but beautiful village of district Darjeeling and it is located in the Nepra Velley National Park. Though it is a small village but the scenic beauty of it is mind blowing and enriching. The name of this place is based on a small stream, i.e. Suntaley Khola. The name was created from Nepali word Suntaley that means Orange and Khola means stream. You can easily visit this place because it is only 5 km far from Samsing. The green slops are truly give you enigmatic soothing beauty and those places are very enriched source of various species of butterflies and birds.


Jhalong is a very beautiful yet small village of the district Darjeeling, in the Kalimpong subdivision. This is a small hill station, located in the border area of Bhutan; the outlandish natural beauty will give you true peace. On the way of Bindu, in the banks of Jaldhaka River you can explore the rich scenic beauty of this amazing place.


One of the most famous tourist spots of north Bengal, Bindu is situated on the banks of Jaldhaka River; it is basically a valley which is surrounded with the hills of Bhutan. After the Chapramari forest, you can get chance to explore some wildlife experience in this place. The main cultivations of this place are cardamom (Elaichi) and Orange (Suntala). The main cultivation process is terrace cultivation process; you can see some of the parts of Bhutan.

Jaldhaka River:

Above 1500ft above the sea level, Jaldhaka river valley is a very popular and magnificent tourist destination which is located in the Dooars. The river valley is surrounded by the hills of Bhutan and the valley is located under Kalimpong subdivision. The origin of Jaldhaka River is Kupup Lake, which is located in the East Sikkim, specifically in the Zuluk tourist circuit area. You will definitely gather some beautiful moments after visiting this alluring scenic beauty.

Rocky Island:

You can explore various attractive places in the banks of River Murti, Rocky Island is one of them. The main attraction of this place is a beautiful resort named "Rocky island nature resort". From Samsing the distance of Rocky Island is 2kms and you can easily roam around this place in one day time. The surrounding forests and chilling river waters are the main attraction of this place.

Tour Itinerary:

Arrive Bagdogra Airport or NJP/Haldibari/New Mal Junction Railway Station in the morning. Check in at Lataguri Hotel. Afternoon enjoy a Jungle drive at Khunia Forest Range. Evening enjoy sunset at Murti River. Return to hotel & enjoy Dinner. Overnight at Hotel.
Morning enjoy a short walking Trail to Neora River. Arrive at Hotel for breakfast and depart for Samsing Tea Garden Rocky Island. Evening reach Sutaneykhola and a take a short Trek to reach the base (1 Km one-way).
The entire day is reserved for Jungle Safari which Takes approx 3 Hrs. (depending upon the forest permit timings). Rest of the time is at leisure.
Post Breakfast departs for Jhalong & Bindu via Cahampramari Wildlife Sanctuary.Drive past Jalong situated near the Indo-Bhutan border on the banks of the Jaldhaka River on the way to Bindu. Jaldhaka Hydro Electricity Project on the Jaldhaka River is a major attraction in this area. . Packed Lunch would be served at Bindu. Evening drop at Bagdogra Airport or NJP/Haldibari/New Mal Junction.
