Darjeeling is a district in the Indian state of West Bengal located amidst the lower Himalayas known for its tea industry. It was named as Mahabharat Range when the town was developed in the mid 19th century by the British then the town came to be known for its vast tea estates that produce the best Tea in the country. Darjeeling Himalayan Railway or ‘Toy Train’ is the most famous attraction was built in the years between 1879 and 1881 which is a narrow gauge rail that is 2ft in width that runs between Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri. Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park is located at an average area of 2134 meters above sea level is the largest high altitude zoos in India famous for its Red Panda, Pangolin, Takin and Snow Leapord.

Tiger Hill and Observatory Hill are two of the famous peaks in Darjeeling that can be reached by jeep or foot that transverses through some of the oldest tea plantations, this place is known for trekking and offer some of the most marvelous views Kanchenjunga and the monolithic Mt. Everest.

Visit to Neora Valley National Park is an important part of Darjeeling Tourism which is a rich arena of avi-fauna and due to the change in altitude at places; various bird species make the place a land for bird watchers. This place is also known as a home to many endangered birds, plants and animals.

Unlike Darjeeling, Mirik hardly gets extreme cool temperature but its mild and comfortable weather is a reason that attracts huge visitors.
