The best birding place comprises of the state of Sikkim which is also known as the richest birding area in the country. Pelling, Yuksom, Khechiperi Lake, Ravangla, Gangtok, Fambonglho Wildlife Sanctuary, Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary, Kyongsla Alpine Sanctuary Barshey Rhododendron Sanctuary, offers the finest guided and unguided birding tours that cover the best birding areas.

West Sikkim offers great birding opportunities whereas Barsey which is located at 3300m on a huge covered with protected forests of silver Fir, hemlocks, magnolia and rhododendrons is one of the best birding regions of Sikkim. Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary in South Sikkim that starts from 2000m and a further 1km trek o Bhaledhunga and gets to watch Tragopan, Kalij pheasant, rusty-bellied Shortwing, Minivet, Yuhina, flycatchers, and certain other kinds of important birds in this trek. The bird watching trek can also be done from Yuksam to Dzongri in the Kanchenjunga National Park. There also has been a record of Tibetan Snow Cock in Gurudogmar Lake. The Neora Valley which forms the town of Kalimpong is one of the best sites for birdwatching in whole of Sikkim where again good number of species like Rusty-bellied Shortwing, Golden breasted Fulvatta along with Pygmy wren babbler, Scaly breasted wren babbler, Long billed Wren babbler, Rufous throated wren babbler can be seen in one go in this bird watching trip.
